maxmilesrl gotcha. Well, that should be straight forward and quite similar to the process that AAM 5 follows.
At first, you need to define default access to your Document CPT. To do so, switch to manage default settings and on the Posts & Terms tab define your desired access settings for the Document CPT.
Note! This will apply settings to everybody, including your Administrator role. However, you can override this access for the Admin role by unchecking restrictions.
Now, all the roles will have no ability to perform restricted actions. The next step is to allow for each individual role to manage documents in each specific category. Do to so, switch to your Role0001 and on Posts & Terms tab, drill-down to Document CPT. Find your category
0001 and uncheck restricted actions.
Please Note! You need to have Plus Package 5.0.3 because previous versions did not show inherited access settings correctly. The latest version fixes this.
This should do the trick.
